Distributors pick up the rights to a film for a limited period of time from either the producer or from the film’s Sales Agent. They get the film out into cinemas and on DVD, TV and online to reach your audience.

Exhibitors show films in theatres. Understanding how cinemas work as a business is the first step in setting the release pattern for a film’s theatrical life. Distributors often buy films once they know a key cinema chain like it and want it – it’s that vital.
