MICROWAVE YEAR TWO – FREESTYLE

Following their participation in Microschool, the film-making teams pitched their projects to a panel of experts before 3 projects were given the greenlight to go into production.

This is a film that is unashamedly for an urban teen audience, a much under-served audience in the UK by British film. We all felt the script and the team were pitched perfectly for creating a British film that does what usually only American films do – tell a classic story of first love with street influence and vibes.

We were very interested in reaching out to this audience, and with hardly any other submissions trying to do the same, this is what marked this film out from the pack.

Freestyle is Microwave’e third feature and was released across all platforms in the UK on 26 February 2010.
